Al-Badar Rural Dental College and Hospital were established in 1992; it is a well-known dental college situated in Gulbarga Karnataka. This college is co-educational and is situated on a 6-acre area and offers dental programs and is recognised under Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. The dental courses offered in this institute are acknowledged by the Dental Council of India (DCI) and the National Medical Commission (NMC). Now the college has total enrolment of 412 in students and 136 faculty members to prove the college is maintaining a good student faculty ratio for a better environment of teaching.

The college has numerous and appropriately equipped facilities for students’ learning and development needs. Al-Badar Rural Dental College and Hospital is currently running a total of 9 courses with a combination of 3 degree levels. The BDS is the flagship undergraduate program which offers 100 seats for the students cum year. In the postgraduate level, the college provides different Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) specialisation areas covering Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, Oral Medicine and Radiology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Periodontics, Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge, Oral Pathology and Microbiology.

While admission criteria in Al-Badar Rural Dental College and Hospital is based on merit, there is much stringency with regard to the admission process. Thus far, for the BDS program, fresh admission is done through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Under Graduate (NEET UG). To become eligible to sought postgraduate admission the targeted candidates need to qualify National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for MDS (NEET-MDS). Candidates enrolled for Ph.D. program have to undergo university administered test, the minimum passing mark being at the 50th percentile.
