Alva’s College of Education, Moodbidri was started in the year 2005 it is one of the premier teacher education institutions located in the district of Dakshina Kannada State of Karnakata. This co-educational affiliated college approved from National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) imparts special education courses. Located on a large area of 7-acres of land, the college admits a total of 200 students and employs 7 faculties.

There is a number of facilities that the college offers to the students to improve their learning process. The campus also has a library which help to meet academic and intellectual requirements for potential teachers. Facilities. Students can have fun whilst living in the dormitory by accessing three canteens, a juice center or a cafeteria where they can purchase different delicacies. The college also provides adequate accommodation for male and female students through the hostels which operates with power and water supply throughout the day and night under the supervision of competent wardens.

Alva's College of Education offers two full-time courses, a two year programme – B.ED with 100 students intake and two year M.ED programme for 50 students intake. They are intended to equip students with the right skills needed to be effective practicing educators. On the same yardstick, the college has a total student intake capacity of Two hundred students to ensure quality delivery of services.

The admission criteria for Alva’s College of Education include marks scored in the qualifying examination and the entrance test. Admission policies in the college depend on the state government/Union Territory administration as well as the affiliated university.
