About Amity Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, Noida

Amity Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, established in the year 2004, is one of the constituent colleges of Amity University situated in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. It focuses on advanced legal education and provides a wide variety of postgraduate and doctoral programmes within the legal disciplines. Situated in sector 125, Noida, AIALS forms part of Amity University's campus, enjoying the University's resources and reputation. The institute, though small, boasts an impressive faculty of 4 dedicated legal experts. So, the students enjoy personalised attention and quality education.

AIALS prides itself on modern facilities meant to add excellence to the learning experience for aspiring legal professionals. It has a well-stocked departmental library, a treasure house for legal scholars, containing more than 6,000 holdings. This vast collection comprises legal texts and reference books, law reports, and a significant number of research thesis and dissertations that will assist students in their studies. The college also features a moot court facility, an essential tool to sharpen practical legal skills. In this regard, this setup will prepare the students with the ability to simulate real courtroom experiences preparing them in actual challenges of legal practice.

The institute offers a diverse range of seven courses, which include five special LLM programmes and two PhD programmes in Law. Each LLM programme is one year long, and the basic areas covered in these programs include Human Rights, Family Law, Business Law, Constitutional Law, and Criminal Law. For students who may have more inclination towards advanced research, AIALS has both full-time and part-time PhD programmes in Law for those who wish to be legal academicians and researchers.

The Admission process in AIALS is made primarily to choose the most promising candidates for advanced legal programs. For the LLM courses, the institute has adopted an innovative approach to candidate assessment. Video answers should be submitted to questions posted on the Admission Microsite with a separate, dedicated video link. This assessment method will not only allow the admissions committee to determine the level of academic skills among applicants but also their communication skills and personal presence which are vital traits in a legal practitioner.

Although both streams of Ph.D. programmes share similar prestige, the process of admission into them is different and those details are not mentioned but might include a rigorous scrutiny of research proposals and academic records. AIALS take considerable pride in its alumni network, many of whom have gone on to occupy the highest judicial, administrative, and academic offices in India and abroad. This vast network, apart from providing assurance regarding the quality of the education imparted by the institute, undoubtedly provides the current students of the institute with many opportunities as well as the knowledge of the profession. Some of the alumni have returned to the Amity family for teaching at various Amity Law Schools and other law colleges across the country, adding strength to the academic base of the institute.

Hello,

JECRC is a better option than Amity when it comes to MA Journalism and Mass Communication. Amity is known to be one of the most popular colleges but JECRC is definitely an underrated college. Both the coleges offer a great academic curriculum and also the placement opportunities are great in both of them. The only difference is what you want to choose personally.

If you come from a good financial background then you can go for Amity but if you come from a middle class family and want to choose something that is going to be worth it then go for JECRC. This is because JECRC offers great facilities, education and placement opportunities. They have a much more affordable fee than Amity. Amity charges 11 lakhs for this course but JERCR charges only 2.75 Lakhs for the whole course.

The highest salary package offered in Amity if 35 LPA and in JECRC the highest salary package offered is 44 LPA. The average package in Amity is 10 LPA and in JECRC is 9 LPA. The choice is yours now.

I hope this helps,

All the best
