Amritalaya College of Education, Vellore: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Amritalaya College of Education has been playing its role in turning students into quality educators after providing them quality education at Vellore in Tamil Nadu, India since 2007. This is a co-educational institution established in Chinnamottur Village of Nattrampalli Taluk, TN; occupying a green 5.2-acre area. Affiliated to the University, it enjoys the recognition of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), which reflect the College’s focus on producing quality teachers. At the moment the college offers only one undergraduate course being the Bachelor of Education (B.ED) for which it has a total enrolment of 93 total student enrolment and 11 total faculty and staff enrolment to provide adequate individual attention and guidance for anyone interested in the teaching profession.

Amritalaya College of Education has a range of facilities to promote learning amongst the learners in this college. The centre piece of any academic resources is a good library stocked with updated books and journals to enable them meet today’s changing demands in education. These are mostly department based laboratories and are important tools for training teachers, which the institution takes pride in having. Aware of the role of information technology in the present day learning, Amritalaya College has adequately equipped computerised laboratories to enhance students’ proficiency with computer systems. For the purpose of developing the students in totality, the college has provided multi-activity facilities for sports since physical and team spirit for all students. There is also provided a campus-based auditorium to foster extra Student life and organise culturally and semantically enlivening events, seminars etc.

Amritalaya College of Education has only one course BEd, for 100 students ones the course is started it neither close until the last student has passed out from it. This is a two-year full-time programme and serves the purpose of developing competent and enthusiastic professionals for moulding future generation. It is assumed that the programme contains a combination of Indonesian curriculum and pedagogy content and effective strategies for promoting teachers’ performance in realistic instructional environments. 

Amritalaya College of Education has clearly laid down admission process which is very efficient in admitting the right crop of the society to be part of teaching profession. Applicants are to first fill an application form and attach copies of relevant documents to the application. Eligible candidates are then invited to participate in an entrance test comprising three rounds. A written test, group discussion and an interview with the Board members.
