Amrutha Ayurvedic Medical College situated in the historical city of Chitradurga Karnataka started its journey in the stream of Ayurvedic education in the year 1996. This affiliated college approved by Central council of Indian Medicine CCIM is an emblem for practicing the ancient Ayurveda of India. Located in a three acre compound, the institution enjoys a natural environment that helps the students to learn effectively. The college accepts 220 total students and has 34 members on the faculty to ensure small class sizes to foster discussion between peers and college professors.

The key programme which forms the backbone of Amrutha Ayurvedic Medical College is the 5 and half years Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS). This is a six year full-time, integrated course that is foundational to the curricula offered in the institution. Provided with an intake capacity of 60 students per year the BAMS course has been framed in a manner that it churns out well qualified Ayurvedic physicians, who can synergise global medical practice with Ayurvedic principles.

The admission to Amrutha Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital neither involve any complication and the admission is granted strictly on merit. Any student who wishes to pursue BAMS has to sit for NEET examination and pass it for him/her to pursue BAMS course. The college follows the guidelines of the admitting regulatory agency for admission, although since NEET results, the college admission is conducted mostly in the second half of the year.
