Anil Neerukonda Institute of Dental Sciences (ANIDS), Vishakapatnam. ANIDS, approved by the Dental Council of India (DCI), adopts a merit-based admissions process for all of its dental courses. ANIDS takes the major portion of its admissions from national-level entrance tests to have a fair and competitive admissions procedure.

For undergraduate, ANIDS looks at the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) marks. The process of applying for NEET-UG usually starts in February, and the examination is held in May. Announcements of the results are generally made in June, after which counseling takes place. Postgraduate admissions for MDS courses rely on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for MDS (NEET-MDS).

The minimum eligibility for admission to the BDS course is passing the 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as principal subjects. To apply for MDS courses, students must have a BDS degree from a recognized college. Eligibility criteria can differ according to different specializations.

Application Process

Application for ANIDS differs according to the course:

For BDS course:

1. Register and sit for NEET-UG exam.
2. Clear NEET-UG by achieving the minimum cut-off marks.
3. Go through the counseling process organized by the concerned authorities.
4. If given a seat at ANIDS, go to the institute for document verification and admission procedure.

For MDS courses:

1. Enroll and take NEET-MDS exam.
2. Clear NEET-MDS by securing the cut-off marks.
3. Attend counseling procedure for MDS admissions.
4. If shortlisted, go to ANIDS for document verification and admission procedure.

Degree wise Admission Process

BDS: Candidates are admitted into the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course at ANIDS on the basis of the candidate's result in NEET-UG. The institute is permitted to admit 100 candidates in this course. Candidates who have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the core subjects and are successful in NEET-UG are eligible.

MDS: ANIDS provides various Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) specializations with 2-3 seats each. The admissions are made on the basis of NEET-MDS scores. The specializations provided are:

1. MDS Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics (3 seats)
2. MDS Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics (3 seats)
3. MDS Public Health Dentistry (3 seats)
4. MDS Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry (2 seats)
5. MDS Oral Medicine and Radiology (2 seats)
6. MDS Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge (2 seats)
7. MDS Periodontology (2 seats)
8. MDS Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (2 seats)

The candidate should have finished their BDS degree from a known institution to become eligible for MDS courses.
