AP College of Journalism, Hyderabad founded in the year 1997 is a self financing institution focusing on the need for quality journalism. This is a private company, co-educational institution, founded in 1980, situated in Hyderabad, which offers the students only journalism and mass communication courses. Though this college is small, it offers the best learning experience for students wishing to major in journalism. AP College of Journalism currently offers three different courses, all of which are geared toward students who want to gain a solid grounding in both print and television Journalism.

From its facilities, AP College of Journalism has established various centres aimed at helping the students in their learning process. However, at the center of these is a compact, functional library which is an invaluable source of information for aspiring journalists. The college IT systems help students perform the course knowing the most recent technologies used in today’s journalism. Currently, AP College of Journalism has three full-time courses where each course serves to fill certain vacuum of the journalism industry. These are Diploma in Journalism, Diploma in TV Journalism and post graduate Diploma in Journalism (PGD Journalism). Each of the diploma courses lasts for six months and offers practical, fast-paced programme in its field. The PGD in Journalism, which is much more extensive, takes a full year in order to complete. The offered course set is rather versatile; therefore, each student can select the programme best fitting to the chosen future occupation, print media, TV, or online media.
