Apollo College of Nursing (ACN), was started in 1997, is one of the top most college of nursing, situated in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This affiliated college is fully approved by Indian Nursing Council (INC) and gives focuses on students to offer quality nursing education. ACN is located on a 12.86 acre campus and confers nursing education at three levels of degree. The college provides a good student teacher ratio for it has managed to enrol 621 students in its programmes with a faculty of 63 members. ACN is women-only, and thus, creates the necessary focus on female students and employees in the sphere of healthcare.

Apollo College of Nursing has put in place a good number of facilities that would complement the learning of the students. Library as one of core services of academy established with reading hall , journal section and most of the specialised services like photocopy, internet browsing etc. As for practical exercises, ACN offers qualified study rooms for Anatomy, Nutrition, Fundamentals of Nursing subjects which enable students to practice in order to enter clinical areas. The campus also has a health center that contains first aid services for a proper health of the students. For physical fitness there is a gym and, for outdoor activities, there are sports facilities. The college is also sensitive to students’ comfort through offering a good girls’ hostel with quality living standards and an adequate supply of water at anytime. Further accommodation facilities include an aircraft for flying event, eating hall and transport facilities to make a good educational facility.

In all, Apollo College of Nursing has 12 courses in different categories within the nursing profession. These are full time programmes at the undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral levels of education. The college’s flagship programme is the B.Sc Nursing offered under the approved annual intake of 100 students for the programme while the Post Basic B.Sc Nursing offered for 50 students annually. At post graduate level, ACN offers following M.Sc programmes specialisations and the number of seats available in each programme are as follows: Medical Surgical Nursing, Paediatric and Child Health Nursing, Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing. The college also offers Ph.D. PART TIME for selected nursing specialities where the college offers advanced of research in the filed of nursing.
