Arpan Institute for Mentally Handicapped Children, Rohtak: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

In the district of Rohtak, Haryana, Arpan Institute for Mentally Handicapped Children was established in 1983 as a special educational institution. The affiliated college aims to impart quality education with aid to children who have a mental handicap. Within a compact campus of 0.14 acres, it offers two specialized courses related to special education in the area of mental retardation. With a total enrollment of 111 students and a faculty strength of 5, the Arpan Institute shall always maintain a very favorable student-to-teacher ratio, ensuring personal attention and care for each learner.

The institute has quite a number of facilities, which can efficiently cater to all the requirements of students at large. Hostel facilities are open to both boys and girls, the capacity of the hostel is 10 children with an atmosphere like home having hygienic food; such facilities are available for those students who come from places other than Rohtak city. Arpan Institute offers two full-time special education programs, B.Ed Special Education in Mental Retardation and D.Ed Special Education in Mental Retardation. The course duration for both of them will be two years, with an intake capacity of 30 students each, aggregating to 60 seats in both courses. This professional course specializes in developing a student's knowledge and skills related to working in a category of persons with mental disabilities.                        

Arpan institute conducts admission on a mainly merit basis for both B.Ed and D.Ed courses in Special Education Mental Retardation. This approach ensures that only motivated and capable students get selected to pursue these specialized courses.
