Asan Institute of Management, Chennai Admission 2025: Dates, Registration, Fees, Eligibility

Asan Institute of Management, Chennai, is an AICTE-approved institution that conducts postgraduate courses in management and computer application. It follows a selective and inclusive admission process that seeks to identify the best students for its MBA and MCA programs.

The process of admission typically starts during the pre-academic year months, usually August-September. Admissions by Asan Institute of Management are offered based on scores in several national and state-level entrance exams, as and when applicable to the program.

For the MBA course, scores of different entrance exams like MAT, TANCET, CMAT, CAT, and XAT are accepted by the institute. The wide range of tests accepted makes it convenient for entry by students from various regions and backgrounds. The entry into the MCA course is done through entrance test equivalent to TANCET of Anna University or MCA Entrance Test of Consortium of Professional Colleges in Tamil Nadu.

Eligibility norms for both the programs demand the candidates to pass their undergraduate courses from a reputable institute. In the case of MBA, any bachelor's degree will do, whereas in MCA, the preference is towards a related discipline bachelor's degree.

Application Process

Application procedure at Asan Institute of Management is marginally different for the MBA and MCA programs:

For MBA Program:

1. Take any one of the entrance tests approved by the institute (MAT, TANCET, CMAT, CAT, or XAT).

2. Once the result is declared for the test, eligible candidates can approach Asan Institute of Management for application.

8. The final selection is on the basis of the overall performance in the entrance exam, GD, and PI.

For MCA Program:

1. Appear for TANCET MCA by Anna University or the MCA Entrance Test by the Consortium of Professional Colleges in Tamil Nadu.

2. Shortlisted applicants, after announcing the exam results, can apply for Asan Institute of Management.

3. Complete the MCA application form (which is available on the institute website or from the admissions office).

4. Attach the filled form along with documents, such as:

Degree wise Admission Procedure

MBA (Master of Business Administration):

Asan Institute of Management has an intake capacity of 60 students for the MBA course. The admission procedure for MBA is as follows:

1. The candidate should appear for one of the accepted entry tests: MAT, TANCET, CMAT, CAT, or XAT.
2. Shortlisting on marks scored in entry tests.
3. Shortlisted candidates are called for a Group Discussion.
4. Personal Interviews is the final step.
5. The selection is done on cumulative performance at all these stages.

MCA (Master of Computer Applications):

The MCA course is of 24 seats and has a slightly different admission process:

1. The candidates must appear for well-known entrance tests like TANCET for MCA by Anna University or the MCA Entrance Examination by the Consortium of Professional Colleges in Tamil Nadu.
2. Admission is purely on merit basis, based on the marks secured at these entrance tests.
3. In contrast to the MBA programme, there is no reference to an alternative Group Discussion or Personal Interview phase for MCA admissions.

Both these programs are full-time and of two-year duration. Both these programs aim to provide industry-specific knowledge and skills to students and help them have successful careers in their chosen field.
