Astha College of Education, Kunihar, started in the year 2007, is an affiliated college situated in Solan, Himachal Pradesh. The institute is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), New Delhi and hence it offers Bachelor of Education (B.ED) course only. Located in a small plot of one acres, this college has a total student’s capacity of 99 and five faculty members. 

Astha College of Education has a variety of facilities that allow the progress of a student. A good library can have over 5000 books throughout education and general category, newspapers and journals for updates of education systems. The most creative of all is the curriculum laboratory with Sciences, Mathematics, Social Sciences, and Psycho – educational majors equipped for prospective teachers with updated teaching aids and equipment. Astha College of Education focuses primarily on teacher education, offering a single full-time course, Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme. To cater for the two-year programme there are 100 approved intakes which are indicative of the intention of the institution in producing qualified educators. The B.Ed course contains all the aspects of education theory and practice the student will require to develop into a competent teacher in the teaching profession.

The eligibility criteria of the B.Ed programme of Astha College of Education is the HP University Combined B.Ed /B.CA Entrance Test. The college has total intakes of 100 students in Medical, Non-Medical, Arts and Commerce groups which fulfills educational diversification. Interestingly, 10% of total seats will be available under management quota, and realistic standards for entry to such seats will be set by the college management as permitted by the HPU. The institution accepts visitors both male and female which creates a good signal of equal education for both genders.
