Attri College of Education for Girls, Mohali Admission Process

The Attri College of Education for Girls, Mohali,  and is attached to establishing a Teaching institution in Teacher Education. It is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and offers two full-time Courses, Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.). Attri College of Education for Girls holds a laid-down admission procedure for its B.Ed. or D.EI.Ed. programs. The admission process for B.Ed. programs is organized by Centralized Online Counselling in compliance with the order of the Honorable High Court of Punjab & Haryana. The responsibility of carrying out this work has been assigned to the federation of all members' associations of Self-Financed Colleges of Education across various Punjab universities.

Admissions in the D.EI.Ed. program will be done purely on merit. The selection of candidates will be on the basis of the marks secured in the qualifying examination or an entrance examination administered by the policy of the state government or UT Administration. The college has its admission schedule, which is usually drawn along with the academic calendar of the Punjab universities. Interested candidates are advised to check the official website of the college or get in touch with the admission office for the specific dates of application form submission, counseling, and announcement of the results.

The Application Process

For B.Ed Program:

  1. The candidate must attend the Centralized Online Counselling organized by Self-Financed Colleges of Education in Punjab.
  2. Enter the official counseling website and register yourself for the B.Ed admission process.
  3. Fill in the online application form duly and correctly regarding personal information and records.
  4. Upload all duly executed documents such as academic certificates, ID proof, and photographs. 
  5. Pay the application fee according to the instructions given on the payment portal.
  6. At the time of counseling, the candidate will select Attri College of Education for Girls, Mohali, according to the preference list.
  7. He/she will await the merit list of allotment results and choices of the respective college.
  8. Once allotment of a seat is confirmed, the candidate will visit the college for verification of documents and affiliate his/her name within the prescribed period.

For D.El.Ed Program:

  1. Purchase/Collect the application form from the website of the college.
  2. Filling in the application form must be complete and true.
  3. Attach all required documents with the application including academic certificates, proof of birth date, etc., as per any essential certificate defined by the college.
  4. The duly filled up application along with the relevant documents should be submitted to the college admission office before the last date.
  5. The application fee is to be paid as per the rule of the college.
  6. Either the college or the State government would hold an entrance exam or interview, which the students must attend.
  7. Depending on the performance of the qualifying examination marks or entrance test, the merit list would be prepared. 
  8. The selected students would then be notified and required to finalize their admission processes as scheduled.

Degree-wise Admission Process

B.Ed (Bachelor of Education): The B.Ed course at Attri College of Education for Girls is a full-time program of two years duration for which an intake of 100 has been sanctioned. This admission into B.Ed programs is through the Centralized Online Counselling process therefore permit a fair and transparent selection of the candidates for self-financed colleges of education in Punjab. The general eligibility criteria are that a candidate must possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized university and score minimum marks, as stipulated by the regulatory authorities.

D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education): This is a two-year full-time course, aspiring to admit 50 students. The admission will be merit-based, depending on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination or entrance test. The eligibility criteria and mode of selection will be determined as per the policy of the state government or UT Administration. This is meant for students intending to teach in elementary schools.

Generally, the following documents/hard copies are to be submitted by candidates for both B.Ed and D.El.Ed programs:

  • Class X & XII mark-sheets and certificates
  • Graduation mark-sheets and degree certificates, in the case of B.Ed
  • Valid photo ID proof
  • Recent passport size photographs
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Any other certificate/document as directed by the college or regulatory authorities.
