Avinashi Gounder Mariammal women’s college of Education in Erode district is one of the premier education institution in the state of Tamil Nadu which started in the year 2005. Located in the central zone of Erode, this affiliated college occupies an area of 5 acres of the land and serves as an appropriate incubation ground for students aspiring to become effective teachers. It is an NCTE recognised institution as of the National Council for Teacher Education currently has 253 active students, 31 well-disciplined faculty members. With a focus on teacher education, the college offers three specialised programs: coded B.Ed, M.Ed, & D.El.Ed, all programs being aimed at catering for the future education standards of India.

Avinashi Gounder Mariammal women’s college of Education has superb provisions within its compound for all the ways students and their academia may be developed. At the centre of these is the library geared with more than 8,865 text and reference books, including subscriptions to twenty national and international journals. Open access system guarantees students and staff full access to such plethora of knowledge. Spearheading the theoretical learning is a Language Lab, ICT Lab, and various subject based labs such as Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Mathematics, Education and History Labs. For overall growth the college provide very good sport complex including indoor games and outdoor games under the supervision of a good Physical Director. The campus also includes a new style auditorium for ceremonies and seminars, a cafeteria to supply the food for the students’ health with healthy meals, and a health centre to supply routine check ups and any medical needs.

Avinasi Gounder Mariammal College of Education teaches its three full time courses towards raising a generation of Qualified teachers. The college recruits a total of two hundred students in all its programs to ensure that the college upholds the quality of its programs through controlling the size of the classes. 

Management quota admission is still absent in Avinasi Gounder Mariammal College of Education, and all the admission are admission is based on marks scored in qualifying examination and/or entrance test. In case of B.Ed programs, admissions are given as per the policy framed by the state government, UT administration and the university respectively. The process of admission to the M.Ed program is similar to the one above with reference to the other criteria that may be used according of the governments or universities’ policies. The D.El.Ed program also focuses on merit based admission as per policies of state government or UT administration.
