Balurghat Law College founded in 2001 is one of the well-known law College in Balurghat, West Bengal. This reputable college occupies 4.17 acre campus and has a mission to educate students chasing the dream of becoming successful advocates. Balurghat Law College is accredited by the Bar Council of India (BCI), and provides a strong foundation to students interested in the field of law. Total enrolment of students are 314 and total number of faculty members are 5 so the college provides personalized educational environment. As it is seen now, the institution has only one distinct degree program, however, proving its focus on legal education.

It has a number of facilities that bring additional learning environment to the college to enrich the student. The library is another important learning facility in facilitating the students’ access to the relevant legal sources of information – texts, journals and references. With an aim of developing the infrastructural facilities to meet the technological demands, Balurghat Law College has incorporated good IT facilities in appropriate manners so that the students might be provided with the appropriate technologies. The college also provides different department based laboratory so as to provide practical aspect of teaching. Not the least is moot court facility is one of the major attraction through which helps the students to practice advocacy skills in the specially designed courtroom. Balurghat Law College currently offers one full-time course: the BA LLB program. Arts and law are the two main themes that are offered in this program the program is integrated five-year program where student is offered general knowledge of arts and special knowledge of law along with its principles and applications. 

The Balurghat Law College has made it a point to include an elaborate and equally impartial method for admission. It considers the candidates’ performance in the qualifying examinations and the results of the law entrance tests, and so on as the admission criteria.
