Bangabasi Evening College was founded in the year 1965. It is located in Kolkata, West Bengal. This affiliated college, accredited by NAAC, offers various undergraduate and postgraduate levels of study in its many streams. The college is on a sprawling 1-acre campus, with a student enrolment of 4,182 with 35 faculty members teaching in all. This college offers 21 courses in 8 degrees with specializations in arts, commerce, and sciences. The student percentage is dominated by boys with 77%, and girls constitute only 23%. The college maintains a healthy mix of local and out-of-state students, with 12% of students coming from outside West Bengal.

The Bangabasi Evening College used numerous campus amenities to create conditions that were engaging and favorable to learning. It is hard to ignore the massive, rare collection of books, journals, and periodicals that the treasure trove of knowledge is—the college library. The newly air-conditioned auditorium with performance facilities installed is named Prasanta Kumar Bose Memorial Hall and is used for seminars, symposia, workshops, inter-college competitions, and other academic and cultural functions. 

This college offers a total of 21 courses in undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The majority of these are full-time courses, with a focus on research-oriented honors degrees.
