Baroda Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, Vadodara, established in 1915, is certainly a prestigious and progressive institution for the study and keeping up tradition of Sanskrit language and literature. It is situated in the heart of Vadodara, Gujarat, and in this constituent college of the Maharaja Sayajirao University, one may experience the conservative blend with modernity.  It comprises a teaching staff of 7 devoted professors and 17 courses at the degree level spread over 3 courses specialising in several genres of subjects in Sanskrit literature, philosophy, and ancient Indian sciences.

Baroda Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya offers students various facilities to hone their learning and all rounded development. The college library is a treasure house of Sanskrit texts and reference books for serious study and research. The latest IT infrastructure makes available contemporary learning aids and materials for the students. Baroda Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya offers a diversified course, thereby addressing the various needs of Sanskrit studies. This college has 17 full-time courses to offer, including undergraduate and postgraduate ones. At the undergraduate level, the college provides Bachelor of Arts in specialised fields like Dharmashastra, Jyotishshastra, Sahityashastra, Shukla Yajurveda, Vastushastra, Vedantshastra, and Vyakaranshastra. Advanced studies are taken care of with Master of Arts (MA) in the same specialisations that further enrich the depth in the chosen field of the student. The college provides a programme leading to a Diploma in Vastushastra with a major emphasis on the traditional Indian system of architecture and design.
