Barpathar College, Golaghat: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Barpathar College, established in 1987, is an affiliating college of Dibrugarh University in Golaghat, Assam, India. This compact 5.47-acre campus offers various undergraduate programmes in the stream of arts. Quality education is provided at Barpathar College by a faculty strength of 28 dedicated educators toward students from varied backgrounds. Currently, the college offers six courses in its two degree programmes with a focus on different disciplines under the BA curriculum. 

Facilities - Barpathar College has ample provision for infrastructure to promote the learning processes as well as overall development. At the heart of these amenities is a well-stocked library, housing a good number of texts, references, and rare books in English and Assamese. The college library remains open on all working days from 9 AM to 3 PM, allowing the use of different magazines and newspapers. For sports lovers, both indoor and outdoor game facilities are fostered in the college so that spirit for physical fitness and team spirit is developed in them. Campus is centralised with canteen having refreshment and socialising. It has parking for cars, bicycles, and bikes for students as well as the staff. Modern educational tools are not left behind: classes are smart, plus Wi-Fi connectivity is across the campus. 

The college also has hostel accommodation for male students coming from out of town, thereby providing a comfortable living environment that is conducive to academic work. Now, Barpathar College runs the BA Course (General) and BA (Hons) with subjects including Sociology, Political Science, Assamese, Education, and Economics—six full-time courses. Duration for all the courses is three years, which gives students more ways to gain more comprehensive knowledge of their chosen fields. The intake to the general BA program is 300 approved seats, which forms a reflection of the capacity that the college has to admit a considerable number. It is silent on the intake information specific to the honours courses.
