Baselios Mathews II College of Engineering, Kollam was established in the year 2002 is one of the prominent institution in Kollam, Kerala. Located at a vast area of 27 acres, BMCE has turned to be a prestigious engineering institution. The college is under the Kerala Technological University and the college got accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council [NAAC]. BMCE enrolled 685 students and has 109 faculty members, and it provides 10 diverse courses under three programmes; Engineering and Management.

Baselios Mathews II College of Engineering, Kollam has first rate facilities in every facet of learning and personal development that students are bound to gain from while at college. College has modern and equipped laboratories: For computer science, there are ten fully operational state of the art computer labs with standard issued software belonging to well renowned companies. The library of more than 23,000 books and over 300 international and national journals provide knowledge support system to the students and faculties. The institution boasts of a quality sporting complex for both indoor and outdoor sporting activities, a hall aimed at exercising and developing students teamwork skills. The college has also arranged different hostel for boys and girls wherein out-station students can comfortably live.

BMCE provides number of academic programmes that one can choose to be enrolled in, from the many areas of study that are available. The institute offers 8 B.Tech programmes offering a focus area such as Computer Science and Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Electronics, and Communication engineering. Besides this, the college has extended its facility by providing M.Tech programme in Computer Science and Engineering and MBA. 

The admission criteria at BMCE are largely the KEAM for B.Tech programmes while for MBA programmes students have to clear the MAT exam. With regard to admission to postgraduate levels, the college also recognises results of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). By so doing the college is able to admission some of the most intelligent individuals in the region.
