Basic Training Centre, Diphu, is a standalone institute set up in 1987 is located at Karbi Anglong, Assam. This is a government recognised institution affiliated to National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and offers courses in teacher education only. The centre is located on a mere 2 acre terrain, hence provides specific atmosphere for learning to students who are interested in becoming educators themselves. The institute thus boasts of 44 students and 8 faculty members with an optimum student to teacher ratio that guarantees individual attention and all round quality education. At the moment, the centre teaches only one programme, the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), in testimony to its commitment to primary teaching training.
