Bengal Educational College, Howrah, founded in 2016 is a young institution that mainly focuses on teacher education. The college is located at Gabberia, Panchla, Howrah district in West Bengal. It caters to specialized courses under the head of education. The institute is approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). This institution spreads across a compact campus of 0.99 acres. Currently, there is a total of 200 students and the strength of faculty is 17 in the college. There are two full-time degree courses available in this educational institute, which supports young students aspiring to become a part of the teaching line up in the various segments of the education chain.

It has all necessary facilities on its campus, keeping a view of making learning simple for its students. The library provides students with a resource centre filled with books, journals, and other educational resources. These materials help enlighten students on matters during their research and studies. There are departmental laboratories set up in college. In these laboratories, there are hands-on opportunities during training. The college well knows the significance of wellness for students. Therefore, Bengal Educational College has its health centre and first aid facilities wherein all primary medical needs could be fulfilled within the premises of the college. 

Bachelors of Education or B.Ed and Diploma of Elementary Education or D.El.Ed form the crux of academic offerings in Bengal Educational College. These programs are conducted to prepare a student in the teaching fraternity of the society. The College has intake capacity of 150 students in these two programs where 100 for B.Ed and 50 seats for D.El.Ed courses. Thus, this program is done in a narrow way and helps the college to retain a favorable students-to-faculty ratio, allowing for more specific attention and guidance. The admission procedure in Bengal Educational College is strictly merit-based. It follows all the rules and regulations as laid down by the state government and the policies of the university.

Admission to the B.Ed programme is on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or performance in an entrance examination.Other selection processes may be followed by the college according to the guidelines of the West Bengal government or the affiliating university. This includes the admission process with the performance of qualifying examination/s and/or an entrance test of the candidate by the norms of the state government or UT administration. 

Though at a very nascent stage, the Bengal Educational College is aggressively working on to become a well-known institution for the teachers' training program of Howrah district. At this stage, its NCTE approval and focused curriculum reflect an emphasis on retaining educational standards at par with the national requirements. As the college grows into its new life, it would surely produce the next generation of edifying its people in West Bengal.
