Beynon Smith College of Physical Education is a private university, affiliated to physical education, and was established in Belgaum, Karnataka. Founded in 1974, this co-educational college is dedicated to maintaining the future of physical education teacher for almost half a century now. Recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and associated with a university, the college especially focuses on the subject of physical education. For this programme, the college has an approved capacity of admitting one hundred students, which demonstrates the ability of the college in preparing a large number of future Physical Education professionals every year.

The admission process of the BPEd programme at Beynon Smith College of Physical Education is intended to identify the most appropriate candidates. The enrolment process is competitive, based on several criteria where every candidate is given an equal chance for consideration. These requirements include an entrance examination as follows: A written test that measures theoretical understanding, fitness test that checks physical strength, interview to assess interest in the course. In addition, the percentage obtained in the qualifying examinationis also taken into consideration.
