Bhagwan Mahaveer Institute of Polytechnic, Sonepat was established in 2008. It is one of the foremost technical institutes in Haryana, India. The Bhagwan Mahaveer Institute of Polytechnic has a campus equipped with modern facilities to improve the students' experience of learning. Students have at their disposal a vast collection of journals, periodicals, and Encyclopedias besides national and regional newspapers. Internet facilities will also be provided in the Library, and the development of a digital library is under process. The college has well-supplied laboratories organized for practice in every discipline, whether it be the Survey Lab, Structural Detailing Lab, Material Testing Lab, Electrical Machine Lab, Computer Programming Lab, and many more. This institute also has very good IT infrastructure and has specialized laboratories for DBMS, OOPS and Java, Visual C#, and Professional Engineering Graphics.

The total sanctioned intake of the institute, for all its courses put together, is 220. The diploma courses presented are Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Tool and Die Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. In all, these three-year diploma courses aim to induct strong base in students for the respective fields of Engineering.
