Bhai Gurdas Institute of Education, Sangrur: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Bhai Gurdas Institute of Education, Sangrur started in the year 2015 and it is one of the well known institute situated in the state of Punjab of India. One of the affiliated college, this college has been approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and aims at building the future of prospective teachers. Located on a small land area of 1.24 acres, the institute has two courses with a total student capacity of 342 students. Regarding their gender preferences, the institute has fairly acceptable gender distribution whereby the students have equal rights regardless of their sex. Out of the faculty, 10 experienced educators are employed at Bhai Gurdas Institute; hence, students can always expect focus and quality of education.

Bhai Gurdas Institute of Education has state of the art facilities and amenities fully equipped to provide the best environment for learning as well as personal development of the learners. A good library is an informational resource centre and the institution has a reading room with a capacity of fifty people. The campus is wireless, so we have Wi-Fi with internet speed of 12Mb, so the students can obtain e-sources in any place on the campus. For those who love sports and gym, the college has provided well equipped, fully equipped gym having all modern equipments. The institute also attaches ample importance to students health and conducts its own Health Centre and First Aid facilities are provided in different parts of the campus. Sports lovers may use the college’s sports amenities while the spacious auditorium is used in holding different functions and seminars. Hostel facilities in the institute provide decent accommodation to students of both sexes. This is food service area on campus fulfills the need for foods among students and can also help reduce or break up formal learning schedules among the students.

Bhai Gurdas Institute of Education has two full- time courses being offered to meet as many factions within the education system as possible. The institute offers unique Courses out of which the most important and the most popular one is ‘The Bachelor of Education’ also known as B. Ed, which is a two years course and takes an intake of 100 students. Also, it provides only one-year Diploma course in Career Guidance for 50 students intake. These are educational programmes which are meant to prepare students for the educational as well as carrier goals and objectives. The total headcount for both the courses is 150 in order to keep a proper student teacher ratio as followed by the policy at the institute.

The admission in Bhai Gurdas Institute of Education is done on the basis of merit, that is the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying exam and/entrance exam, if any for the particular course. The institute abide by the policies on admission as provided by the State Government/UT Administration and the University by which it is affiliated. In the case of the B.Ed programme, the process of admission is very formalised where Merit is the major factor.  Other social responsibilities include; Transport facility: It has fifty buses for educational instructions and another fifty bus for students transport to and from the hostel and other neighbouring areas.
