Bharathi College of Education was established in 2015, specifically to focus only the teacher education in Salem, Tamil Nadu, India. This is a co-educational college affiliated to a university and provides a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme accredited by the NCTE- National Council for Teacher Education. Located in T.S.No. 37 Court Road Maravaneri, Salem, the college campus is in joint venture with Bharathi Vidyalaya Higher Secondary School. At present, it has 69 students’ enrolment capacity and 12 members of faculty to give the aspiring teachers a specialised learning experience.

Bharathi College of Education has many infrastructural facilities that aid the teaching learning process of the college students. In addition to books, a first-rate library helps lay foundation knowledge base that is critical for teacher training. The college also provides departmental laboratories and also makes it convenient to provide practical lessons that are important to future teachers. An auditorium is used for holding events and seminars and encourages the participants for knowledge exchange and career success. This institution boasts of having one of the best IT kept systems this makes students aware of modern learning facilities. For the comprehensive development, recreational facilities such as sports facilities are also provided for physical development, in addition to development in academic field. Having a first aid health centre guarantees the students physical health, while a canteen provides students with their meals. It also has an alumni relations office that makes sure that the graduates keep in touch and in cases help the students in their college.

Bharathi College of Education today provides only one full time programme, which is the Bachelor of Education (B. Ed.). This two-year programme aims at producing professional teacher to allow student to achieve their dream of teaching. The college has been approved to take in 100 students and the number of opportunities for those who wish to become teachers can accommodate many of them. The programme offered at Bharathi College of Education deals with many aspects of teaching-learning process including pedogogy, educational psychology and mnethods of teaching.

The admission process in Bharathi College of Education is designed in accordance with the guidelines from the state government, university, and any other education authorities may permit. The admission is competitive based on the marks scored in the qualifying examination as well as any entrance test. The college may also use other forms of selection as may be allowed by the Tamil Nadu government and the affiliated University.
