Bharathidasan Engineering College, Natarampalli (BEC) is one of the distinguished institutions of technical education in the state of Tamilnadu has started in the year 2002. The affiliated college is established at M.G.R Nagar, K.Bandarapalli, Nattrampalli, Tirupattur District, Tamil Nadu and it occupies 25 acres of land. Accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) BEC includes a wide specialisation of engineering. Being an affiliated college with a total strength of 607 students and a faculty strength of 116, the college has a low student teacher ratio. It is serving 10 courses spread over two degree levels of engineering and is considering other fields of discipline.

The college has privilege of comprising of a number of modern equipments that make the environment suitable for learning. The large library as a university reference reflects extensive reading and research with books as well as periodicals. For the students who live in the hostels, BEC has hosted separate hostels for boys and girls. Apart from comfortable living space, these hostels provide friendly atmosphere knowing that tutors are always within reach should students need help in troubling topics. Technological consciousness of the college is marked by fully air conditioning computer laboratory with a floor area of 15,000 sq. ft. with leased line internet facility of 2 Mbps.

Bharathidasan Engineering College provides all kinds of engineering disciplines for both the under graduate and post graduate levels. Currently the institute offer 7 undergraduate programs and 4 postgraduate programs, which include only full time courses. For these programs the number of approved intakes is 444, which can be seen as an evidence of the college’s ability to develop a large number of potential engineers annually. 

Admissions policy at Bharathidasan Engineering College is equally and adequately fair. As to the specific requirements for the undergraduate, it is stated that engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu may use state-level entrance exams or board exam results. For doing the postgraduate programs, the college has the option of admitting students on the basis of their performance in TANCET. This paper-based objective test is particularly useful in evaluating job seekers’ potential to be engineering postgraduates. ME programs which includes Applied Electronics, Computer Science and Engineering, Structural Engineering, Thermal Engineering all of them conduct TANCET for admission.
