 Bihpuria College at Lakhimpur, Assam, was established in 1973, from a very humble beginning with part-time classes for the fulfillment of demand for higher education in the vast rural area of Dhakuakhana Sub-Division of Lakhimpur district. The college is one of the affiliated colleges and has the campus area of 43.13 acres. The college is an accredited college of. 

The college has a whole set of facilities for its students so as to provide the ambience for qualitative and effective learning. The library is on 2 floors and housing around 50 students, with about 10,109 books, magazines, journals, and e-collections. They are administered very efficiently by means of SOUL 2.0 Software and e-resources are accessible from UGC-Info Net and N-LIST of INFLIBNET. An outdoor playground is also there within the campus and there is an indoor stadium by the name of 'RONGMAHAL', which plays host to the games of football, cricket, volleyball, badminton, and table tennis. There is also a mini-gym, a college auditorium for cultural activities, and separate hostels available for boys and girls with good merit deserving accommodation. 

Bihpuria College has a total of 14 courses, which is offered only in the full time. The institute provides an undergraduate level of degrees in Arts and Commerce with 7-07 each in the programmes of BA, B.Com, and various honours programmes. All courses combined, the college has students to the count of 756.
