BDAM is an affiliated college that was opened in 1985 in Pichhari, Jharkhand. The institute is situated at Jaina Road, Bokaro and the campus size varies at 30 acres. BDAM is affiliated to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and provide various number of under graduate courses. With a total enrolment of 758 students and a faculty strength of 28, the college maintains a balanced gender ratio of 1:1.07 (male to female). BDAM offers 26 courses cutting across 6 degrees in a wide area of specialization within Arts Commerce and Science disciplines.

The college has several facilities that include those that enhance the students learning and personal growth. Currently the library has 819 books in different fields, 11 journals for the use of scholars. BDAM has facilities of sports to get fit as well as take part in different sporting activities and hold the annual sporting activities. It also has all the technological facility for computer and IT aid in facilitating e-learning. In order to assist the students, and members of staff, the college provides a canteen service. Science departments are equipped with classrooms and workshops and various functional labs to give students practical experiences. First aid services are provided through the college health center, through a first aid facility. BDAM also has facilities for transport for both students and staffs and as a result there are lot of means of transport hence there will be convinces to move from one place to another. The college still maintains the alumni association to ensure all the members are connected and the college also focuses on the overall development of all students through the organized co curricular activities.

Currently, BDAM student can choose from a rich list of undergraduate programmes; the university totals 26 full-time courses. These include Bachelor of Arts (BA) with different majors including Bengali, English, History, Philosophy, Geography, Sociology, Sanskrit, Economics, Hindi, Political Science, Anthropology, Psychology, Mathematics, Home Science, Urdu, and Music. It is in the Ministry of Science stream that the following Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) courses are offered by this college;Physics, Chemistry Mathematics, Botany, Zoology & Geology. For Commerce students there is a course known as Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) with option in Accounts. It also offers broad-based BA, B.Com., and B.Sc. programmes General degree programmes.
