Bishamber Sahai Degree College, Roorkee, came into existence in the year 2006. This college is an affiliated university located in the state of Uttarakhand in India. This college is located 6 km from the Delhi-Dehradun Highway. The college offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in a large number of disciplines. The faculty strength of the college is 44. Aiming for a quality education, the institution ensures imparting quality education to the students. Approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the programs in the college follow national standards of instruction. Thus, Bishamber Sahai Degree College has on offer 21 courses across 11 degrees, thus providing a platform for a multitude of academic interests and career ambitions.

The college owns a suite of facilities that make the student learning experience and all-round development quite unique. It is the knowledge hub with the latest reference books, journals, and magazines, along with the digital resources to roar up with. In its constant stride for technological upgradation, the institution boasts of very fine IT infrastructure, equipping students with modern tools of research and learning. Laboratories for individual departments are furnished appropriately to meet the needs for practical exposure in the respective fields. The college has put in place sports facilities and a gym for exercising young minds toward achieving good health for the sake of integral development. An auditorium is available for events and seminars held helming intellectual discourses and cultural activities. A canteen, health center with first aid facilities, and guest rooms for visiting faculty and family members are also part of the campus. In addition to these, the college provides separate hostel facilities for boys and girls to accommodate out-station students comfortably. It provides transport facilities as well for day scholars.  

The Bishamber Sahai Degree College offers almost 21 full-time courses to impart comprehensive knowledge at all levels of higher education. Course offerings are from undergraduate to postgraduate and professional, covering a diversity of academic interest and career goals. The college provides courses in BCA, BBA, B.Ed, B.Sc different streams, M.Sc in Information Technology and Computer Science to name a few.                                                                                        

The Admission procedure varies from the different courses provided by the College. In most of the courses, admissions have done depending on merit of marks obtained in the qualifying examination. But when it comes to the B.Ed course, College is more practical in approach toward the admission process. The admission procedure of B.Ed. is on the basis of merit derived from the qualifying examination and/or an entrance examination. It is also in lin in relation with the policies of the state government, UT Administration, and affiliating university. This would make a perfect sense in having an admission process that is fair and standardised on all programs.
