Basaveshwar Arts and Commerce College is one of premier institute in Basavana Bagewadi, Bijapur, Karnataka which was started in 1982 by BLDEA. This affiliated college, located over a 16-acre area, provides a variety of courses in arts and commerce streams. The college is recognised by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and asserts the quality of education. Altogether it has 537 enrolled students and 15 teachers what makes the conditions of studying pretty favourable. There are altogether fifteen courses under three programmes including a college that focus in diverse fields of specialisation including History, Sociology, Economics, Political Science, Commerce, etc.

The Basaveshwar Arts and Commerce College has luckily equipped with various types of facilities which are useful in improving the teaching-learning process. These comforts include a modern standard library, whichestablishment contains 24998 books of all kinds in the Arts and Commerce faculty. The library also has on-line resources under N-LIST project of INFLIBNET which include, 6137 e-journals and 3135000 e-books. For the people interested in technology the college avails a computer laboratory with 40 computers and internet amenities. Language lovers will find the language lab helpful; it is designed for 30 students with two computers and a Smart board available. 

Basaveshwar Arts and Commerce College of BLDEA contains the wide variety of graduate and post graduate courses. The college offers 15 Full Time courses out of which the students can opt for B.Com, BA in combinations offered including Sociology, Economics, Political Science,History, Kannada, Hindi, Applied Statistics, MA in History. These programs have been developed to meet students’ various academic needs as well as their occupational goals.
