Burdwan Raj College, Burdwan Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College has just completed a four-storeyed Hostel building for Girls with financial assistance from the UGC. The Girls Hostel will be opened this academic. it can accommodate 100 Girls. The entire building has many spacious rooms with marble floors and bathrooms and latrines are fitted with mosaic tiles. Boarders must observe the rules and regulations as will be framed by the College authority from time to time.

The college has two hostels for male students of the College viz., Nalini Ranjan Sarkar Hostel and Fazlul Hague Hostel. Very recently, both the Hostels have been thoroughly renovated. Bathrooms and latrines have been fitted with mosaic tiles. A cycle shed has been built for keeping cycles. An assistant Superintendent has been appointed for each Hostel. He resides in the Superintendent's quarter in the Hostel building and is available for 24 hours to look into any sort of problem on the border. These two boys' hostels can accommodate about seventy students each. Borders are selected strictly on the basis of their academic performance, the distance of the College from their native places, and their moral bearings. Boarders must have to abide by the rules and regulations enforced by the Hostel Committee of the College, failing which their border ship is liable to be canceled. A border going out of the Hostel for any purpose must have prior permission of the Assistant Superintendent and must return within 7.30 pm. No student can go outside the Hostel after 7.30 pm.

The College Library, having three units, viz., Day, Evening, and Morning, is well equipped with about 40,000 books. The Day Shift Library, popularly known as the Central Library, is housed at Sankar Das Smriti Bhavan, which is located on the north bank of the Shyamsayer. Libraries of the Morning and Evening Shifts are housed in the New Annex Building. The College Library has computer facilities for the students. On production of the fee book to the librarian, students will receive two cards, viz., one for regular lending of books and the other for other reference books. Detailed instructions regarding the issuing of books are available with the concerned librarians.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The college provides ample open for games and sports for the students. Both Indoor and outdoor games facilities are available. The college not only provides The infrastructure necessary for different sports and games. but also organized a number of contests and aid tournaments throughout the year. In fact, students of Burdwan Raj college awsome a leading role in the field of sports within the jurisdiction of the affiliating University.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The college has dedicated state of art laboratories for different subjects for the conceptualization of the practical aspects of studies and also to have ideas about their application domain. They have two laboratories for Physics, three for Chemistry, two for Zoology, two for Botany, and one for a practical room for Mathematics. For Electronics and Computer Science, we have dedicated labs. each instrument is always changed on a regular basis and the infrastructure of labs. are upgraded as per changing national and international standards.

The college has a Gym facility for the students.

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

The college has connected with fiber optics cable for world-class connectivity and internal connection. High-speed broadband is available everywhere on the campus. Internet facility is available in all three shifts of the college. It is also available in all Science departments, BBA & BCA departments. Students can also make use of "Gyan Darshan" and Video conferencing instituted at Raj College study center of Netaji Subhash Open University.
