The Akkamahadevi Women’s Arts, Science and Commerce College Bagalkot is one of the premier women’s college in the state of Karnataka India and was founded in year 2000 by BVV Sangha. This affiliated college is situated in Bagalkot and it owes acres of land of 5.15 acres to facilitate all required academic environment. The college has attained accreditation from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), thus a confirmation to produce quality education. The college has a total of 624 learners and the faculty comprises of 22 members hence low student to Faculty ratio which enhances individual attention. The institution provides four different courses in arts, science, and commerce streams to facilitate different fields of student’s interest and their respective career.

Akkamahadevi Women’s Arts, Science and Commerce College has state of the art facilities that facilitate accomplishment of the general learning goals. The core of the academic contents, a good library is resourced to support an OPAC & Information and Referral Services INFLIBNET and Inter-library Loan service. The library remains open from 10 am to 5:The library opens at 8 in the morning, and closes at 10 of 30 pm and often students find time to carry out research and self-study. In as much as on health and wellness, the college has a health centre with first aid needs to ensure the students are always healthy. Sports lovers get their privacy in the college facility that offers field for various sporting activities such cricket, basketball, badminton and athletic. They perform the role of Physical Director, and give lessons to student ensuring that they do well in different sports events. To address the needs of its students, the college even provides for a canteen, an auditorium for events and seminars, well equipped laboratory and IT facilities. The compounded girls’ hostel with necessary commodities like safe drinking water supply, own canteen, medical facilities make the students from other stations comfortable.

The programmes which the BVV Sangha’s Akkamahadevi Women’s Arts, Science and Commerce College provides encompasses almost all fields of learning. There are four full time courses being offered by the institution which include the following three undergraduate degree programmes, namely B.Sc,the BA and the B.Com which all take three years to complete. Also, Post graduate course in Botany is available in this college, Master of Science (M.Sc) in Botany is a Two year course. These programmes aim at having the students gain knowledge as well as skills and orientations to enable them to undertake future academic programmes and/or employment.
