One of the premier women's colleges in Karnataka is Akkamahadevi Women's Arts, Science, and Commerce College, Bagalkot. Admission to the colleges depends on merit, although a flexible and student-friendly approach has been adopted by the college. The college generally starts its admissions procedure for the following academic session that commence about six months after the declaration of 12th standard examination results.

Undergraduate programmes comprise B.A., B.Sc., B.Com. The minimum eligibility requirement is a pass-out from any recognized board in the 10+2 or equivalent examination. However, for postgraduate education, M.Sc. in Botany, candidates must have acquired their bachelors' degrees in their respective streams from any recognized university.

6. After the submission, the college will shortlist the candidate list based on academic performance and other parameters followed by the merit list.

7. The shortlisted candidates will be called for counseling or document verification. One has to attend these sessions with all the original documents.

8. They would be followed by the college's admission process once the candidature has been finalized. Formalities involve admission fee and if the college further asks for, submitting some sort of document/s.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Sc: The college offers a B.Sc course with different specializations. Admission to the B.Sc course is strictly based on marks scored in the 12th standard, but it focuses more on science subjects. The course is for three years, and students can opt for any combination of subjects that the college offers.

B.A: The bachelor of arts course at Akkamahadevi Women's College offers a wide and broad education in humanities and social sciences. Admission to the B.A courses is on the basis of 12th standard marks, with an emphasis on relevant subjects. It is a three-year course with different subject combinations to provide for varied interests.

B.Com The B.Com course is for those who are interested in business and finance. Admission into the B.Com program is given on the marks of 12th standard; preference is given to students who have studied commerce or related subjects. The B.Com program runs for three years.

M.Sc Botany: The college offers M.Sc in Botany, a two-year postgraduate course. Admission to the M.Sc Botany program is based on the candidate's performance in his bachelor's degree preferably in Botany or a related life science discipline. The course provides advanced knowledge and research opportunities in the field of Botany.
