Canara College, Mangaluru: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

The Canara College at Mangaluru was established in 1973 which is an affiliated college and situated at the heart of Mangaluru, Karnataka. The sprawling campus of this institution is 2.82 acres and is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Currently the college has a student population of 1,499 and 59 members of teaching staff Canara College provides undergraduate and postgraduate education. In undergraduate courses college offers equal gender distribution and where 53% of the students are female, while postgraduate courses have 83% female students. 

Canara College offers many facilities that could aid to improve the learning environment of students. This large library contains a wide range of books for students so that they would be for their academic activities. A computer laboratory with adequate computers and air conditioning is provided for students depending on technologically enhanced courses. The college also has a centrally air-conditioned seminar hall in the fourth floor in terms of teaching learning gadgets the college is also equipped with the latest teaching aids. Now coming to physical fitness-training, the gym facility is available along with ample area provided for sports. The food facility of the campus also has a cafeteria for snacks and beverages that are easily affordable. The college is situated near the hostel available for female students only, which has a mess facility also within the walking distance.

Over all the college provides the eight undergraduate course and one post graduate course. These include full time programmes in Commerce (B.COM, M.COM), Management (B.B.A, B.B.M), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) and Science streams (B.Sc). The B.Sc programme was launched offering specialisations in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics &Computer Science, Botany & Zoology streams. 

The admission process of the Canara College will be open and merit-based. In the case of the college however no specific dates for examinations are given, but performance in the qualifying exams in admission into different courses may be considered.
