Survey of Captain Sukhwasi Singh Smarak Janta Mahavidyalaya, Ghatampur, revealed that the college was established in the year 1995, and it falls under the university of the state of Uttar Pradesh. It works from an area of 3.1 acres, and NCTE approves of it. The staff-student ratio on the college campus is kept at an acceptable level where the enrolment program of the students is 1,063. There was a small faculty-student ratio, with 41 faculty members.

Inside the institute, there are several facilities that aim to make the experience of learning even more enjoyable for its students. For example, the library, which is still counted among the most important academic resources, contains NCTE standards about the B.Ed faculty and standards about the Faculty of Arts as well. It has a reading room, spacious enough to accommodate as many as 40 students, who can read and prepare for their educational programs. The institute is modernly furnished with IT infrastructure, along with an auditorium for events and seminars, a health center having facility for first aid, for the development of the physical ability, it has both indoor and outdoor sports activities, and a sufficiently good playground area. 

Captain Sukhwasi Singh Smarak Janta Mahavidyalaya offers two full-time programs: B.Ed-two years; D.El.Ed- two years. Total intake for B.Ed program is 100 seats and for D.El.Ed program is 50 seats. Both the courses provide education for the ventures in the teaching profession. In total, the students intake is 1,063 for the courses offered by the institute, and thus the overall contributions made by the institute to teacher education are significant. Admission at Captain Sukhwasi Singh Smarak Janta Mahavidyalaya is strictly on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The eligibility criteria is maintained by the college in consonance with those prescribed and applicable by the state government of Uttar Pradesh as well as with the eligibility criteria prescribed and applicable by the affiliated university.

The admissions for the B. Ed. course shall be strictly made upon merit based on either a National Entrance Test or through a State Entrance Test conducted by the University. The admissions into D. El. Ed courses shall also be on merit where possible following the policy of the state government and other academic bodies. The fact that the institute branched out from teacher education allows aspirants with long-term career interests within the teaching domain to take it as a big advantage.
