Carmel Teacher Training Institute was established in 1995, is a self-financing college situated at Rongli, Dist – East Sikkim, West Bengal, India. This is a co-educational institution has an aim of producing quality educators to teach in schools of the future because it has a professional course in teacher training. Recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), this institute proves its cal loyalty towards imparting good educational standards. Carmel Teacher Training Institute is located on 0.196 acres of land proving that it is a private and small institute. Having 80 students in the institute and 8 faculty members, the institute offers individual participation and academic focus toward the prospective teachers.

The institute has an approved capacity to take 50 students for this course, a factor that showed that the institute wanted to maintain a teacher- student ratio of learning. Such specialization helps the Institute to direct all its efforts and resources towards providing the best teacher education.
