CASET College of Computer Science and Engineering was set in the year 2001 is an affiliated college situated in the center of Srinagar Jammu and Kashmir. Tucked away in a lane off Gole Market in Karan Nagar neighbourhood, this institution has been training techno-geeks for the last 21 years. It is a small college situated across an area of half an acre and majorly concentrates in the field of computer science and engineering. CASET currently admits a total of 254 students and has 6 members of faculty which guarantees that each student is given adequate attention to ensure he/she achieves his/ her full potential.

Infrastructure facilities in this college include a number of amenities that are adopted to make the learning process of students more effective. Rich, the facility offers a well-equipped library as a knowledge resource center with a number of text and reference books and magazine subscription. Capturing the emphasis of Reynolds’ narrative, it can put into a proposition that this resource center is ineluctable for systematic support of academic activities and research activities. In better IT environment, the students get the needed support that they require to make them become pertinent in the college, ever enhancing its prestige in technological fields. Thus, for the students’ practical training, CASET provides department-based laboratory, which enriches theoretical knowledge by pratical experience.

CASET College of Computer Science and Engineering presently has only one main course to introduce to the public, which is the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA). This programme takes three years and is offered at full time so as to enable students gain broad understanding and practical knowledge in computer applications. 

As much as social responsibility, CASET College entails offering education in computer science and engineering together with a comprehensive campus life. The college has an auditorium where it conducts event, seminars and most importantly cultural activities hence the active college life. For those people who would not want to compromise of their exercise regime since they are involves in other activities, the college has a gym facility. The cafeteria has been constructed at every media corporation to give students and staff a place to take a break between lessons. Furthermore, for the convenience of guesting faculty and families of the students, the college has delightful guest rooms or formal waiting rooms where they can wait or spend time pleasantly.

Towards the future, CASET College of Computer Science and Engineering remains to be a tower of the technological education in Srinagar. Its concentration on computer science together with a variety of student-oriented services that it offers make the Institute to be an institution that prepares the next generation of Information Technology experts. Despite the college’s small size, its role is huge for young learners in Jammu and Kashmir who, due to lack of options, have to study computer applications in other states.
