The Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology, Agartala (CIPET Agartala) is one of the centres for training in petrochemicals engineering and technology. This institute was set up in the year 2017, and it is an offshoot of the state government of Tripura; it has been situated at the Rubber Park Area of Bhudjungnagar, Agartala. CIPET Agartala was occupied by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), This makes the institution to be conducting its operations under stipulated education standards and policies in the country.
The institute is strategically located and has a core faculty of 14 members – providing two diploma courses the domain of plastics technology. Though there is no information available regarding its ranking CIPET Agartala is quite specialized and government aided, which makes the institute quite prominent in the field of petrochemicals engineering.
As one of the premier institutions of CIPET, CIPET Agartala promises to give the students the best facilities to improve their study. The institute maintains a comfortable library to avail resourceful prospect to the students in order to accumulate knowledge of different books and research journals particularly of petrochemicals and plastics technology. In terms of information technology, the college is very well equipped to afford our students all the technological necessities for their academia.

The institute has two full time diplomas which are completed in three years each. The two programs of study that are closely related to polymers are the Diploma in Plastics Technology and Diploma in Plastics Mould Technology. Both courses have an approved target group or enrolment of 60 students each, which makes the total enrolment to 120 for each academic year. The courses make provision for students by orienting them towards the technical sector particularly in the growing sector of plastics engineering in the petrochemical industry.
