The Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET), Balasore, India was set up in the year 2010, has become one of the key institution imparting education in petrochemicals engineering and technology. This affiliated college is set on 8 acres of land in Bampada Industrial Area, Balasore, Odisha. CIPET Balasore offers these courses under the approval of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), below are the courses offered;- The faculty of the institute is comprised of 30 members and provides focused academic programs in plastics technology to meet the needs of the petrochemical industry. CIPET Balasore is also quite unique in that concentrates on providing technical education with three different programs which are a combination of theory as well as practical knowledge.
CIPET Balasore have many state-of-art-facilities right from its building and infrastructure to its laboratories, workshops and other teaching aid that can enrich students’ learning faculty. All classes are complemented with modern teaching aids including overhead projectors, multimedia presentation tools, and display panels.
The laboratories include all facilities that enable students to test theories in real-life conditions. Accommodation The boys and girls of the institute are offered different hostels with sizes, facilities of new furniture, and washing baths had good arrangements. In regard to physical health, the campus provides sporting amenities that include indoor and outside sports. To add on to this a first aid and medical day care centre is offered to students and staff for free.
The air-conditioned library facility contains approximately one thousand books and diverse pieces, including magazines, journals, and articles. Moreover, a library which is fully digitized allows a number of benefits for students: accessing a tremendous amount of information. It also boast of a good Information Technology that prepare the students on the relevant superior technology.
CIPET Balasore undertakes three full time regular course in total for the students. These include one postgraduate diploma and two diploma courses with the specialty in varied areas of plastics technology. Currently the institute has got total approved student’s capacity of 300 students from its all programs.

Degree-wise Admission Process
For the Postgraduate Diploma in Plastics Processing and Testing: This postgraduate diploma program has a sanctioned strength of 120 students, and admissions are granted on the basis of merit in CIPET JEE. The eligibility clause is generally, a graduate degree in appropriate branch of engineering or science.
Diploma in Plastic Technology: This diploma course also has an approved intake of 120 students. The candidate aspiring for admission has to appear for CIPET JEE. The eligibility criterion is generally 10+2 with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics under the science stream.
Diploma in Plastic Mould Technology: This specialized diploma program permits an intake of 60 students, with admissions made on the basis of CIPET JEE. The eligibility criteria are same as those for Diploma in Plastic Technology, with emphasis on strong science and maths subjects at 10+2 level from the candidates.
