The Centre for Biotechnology CB PIMS was established in the year 2001 at Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences, Loni which is a constituent College of the University. The college is a co-education college situated in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, which offers medical biotechnology. This campus occupies 0.443 acres of land and at the moment has 39 registered students. The centre closely has a total of 3 members in the faculty and 2 of the following degree programs, Medical Biotechnology. It has other facilities as a mini – auditorium with 450 seating capacity, laboratory, a health center with first aid facilities, IT facilities, hostel, canteen, and guest house for the visiting faculty and their family members.

At the Centre for Biotechnology we have two full time courses in the area of medical biotechnology. The B.Sc Medical Biotechnology course takes three years to complete while the M.Sc Medical Biotechnology will take two years to complete. Each program has an intake capacity for 30 students making the overall student capacity to 60 students. The centre is focused essentially on medical biotechnology that equipped students with specific knowledge and skills in this still developing area.
