The Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) is a constituent unit of Tezpur University, situated at Napaam, Sonitpur district, Assam, India. Set up as a distance learning wing of a reputed university, Tezpur University, CDOE has been founded to bring quality education out of class. Unfortunately, particular information regarding its establishment is missing, but the center functions on the approval of the University Grants Commission [UGC], which maintains its conformity with the country’s standard of education. 

CDOE also slated for co-education and without discrimination on the sex, color, race or marital status of the applicant with a focus on providing education for higher learning through flexible modes of learning. Currently, CDOE deals only with postgraduate degree programs in humanities and social sciences. The centre offers three master's degree programs: A Master of Arts in English, a Master of Arts in Sociology, and a Master of Arts in Mass Communication. 

These courses are intended to meet the needs of the employed, those living far from a college or university and persons wishing to improve their educational backgrounds but without time to attend a college campus on a full time basis.

The admission process at CDOE is a closed admission process which is as much student friendly as it can be.
