Chanambam Ibomcha College Bishnupur, Tengkhal Khunou, Manipur came into existence in 1965 as an affiliated college of Manipur University. Chanambam Ibomcha College is located in the 27.8 acres and is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Spread over an area of 650 acres allowing it to have 460 students while the faculty is composed of 14 members, the college provides education for two undergraduate degree programs. Local students’ enrolment dominates the system; 98% are from Manipur while only 2% is from other states across India. In terms of gender distribution, the college is almost equally balanced, with 61:39 male-to-female ratios within the undergraduate programs.
Chanambam Ibomcha College currently has several facilities that can be used to improve the experience of the student. The library is one of the main facilities of academic sources that contain many textbooks, reference books, and subscriptions to national, as well as international journals and magazines. It also opens up the doorway to INFLIBNET-NLIST, which augments courses in distance learning. For the students who need it, the college has both boys’ and girls’ hostels admission to which is given to the tribals and the needy economic students. Chanambam Ibomcha College offers two full-time undergraduate programs: BA – Bachelor of Arts and B.Sc – Bachelor of Science. Each program takes three years to complete and enables students to acquire a broad base of knowledge in their areas of specialisation. Each of these programmes admits a total of 460 students, and the college does this in order to establish an appropriate student-faculty ratio for learning.
