Chinmaya Arts and Science College for Women was started in the year 2003 at Kannur which is a leading college for women in Kerala. This affiliated college is located at the picturesque Govindagiri Chala crossing an area of 33 Acres. This is an institution with 8 degree programmes offered to 448 students by facilities with 26 members of teaching faculty. Although the major concentration is on arts and science, the college affords a conducive learning atmosphere for young women who intend to achieve their dreams in the chosen disciplines such as English and Commerce, Biotechnology and other related options.

Chinmaya Arts and Science College for Women has today put in place various modern-day facilities that can support the learning needs of the students. In the middle of academic amenities is the library that contains approximately 7000 books ranging from Computers and Management, Science and General Reading. Students also technically connected through Inflibnet to get access more than 3800 e-journals and 80000 e-books are available. Similar goes for the IT infrastructure which includes one computer hall that has 90 computers with the Linux and Windows OS. For those willing to study science, well equipped Biotechnology, Biochemistry and Microbiology practicals are available for practical lessons. 

The faculty includes a wide spectrum of courses available for students, and all the courses offered by Chinmaya Arts and Science College for Women are primarily classified as full-time courses so that certain details of the course are learned well and in practice. Currently, there are 8 distinct degree programmes offered, across undergraduate and postgraduate study options. They offer, at the undergraduate level, BA English, B.Sc Biotechnology, B.Com Computer Applications, BBA and BCA. For those who wish to continue their education beyond the college level the college also provides post graduate courses such as MA English; M. Sc Biotechnology; and M.Com Finance. These courses are designed flexibly to meet the market needs of the dynamic society and hence prepares the students for the future market.
