Chitkara College of Education Patiala was established in the year of 2003 is also a constituent college with an aim to construct the future of education. The institution is situated in Patiala, Punjab, and this premier institution has created a niche for the teacher education. The college is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) hence our programmes are in conformity with the national requirements. Chitkara College of Education recognises the need of addressing its prospective teachers with differently designed B.Ed, M.ed for the educators of the future.

Chitkara College of Education houses highly developed infrastructure facilities that facilitates the learning of its students. The modern library ascribes as a knowledge centre and hosts more than 57800 print and non-print materials such as books, journals and e-resources. More than 10,000 electronic journals available to students promote research and lifelong learning. The IT facility is also well developed with inter connected computer centres to give the students new software and communication aids. Added to this, the college has excellent sporting amenities for those students who want to combine education with sports. The campus also includes professional laboratories, bright classrooms with multimedia facilities, and large conference and conference halls.Other facilities also available in the college to cater the need of the students include medical insurance for the college students, a cafeteria that supplies students with balanced diets and transport services to different cities. Chitkara College of Education, Patiala is diligently working towards the excellence in education and finely built infrastructure and thus it has a great demand among the student community aspiring to be educators.

Currently, Chitkara College of Education, Patiala, has 2 full time courses for education at different levels. The B.Ed programme which is one of the flagship programme of the college has an approved intake capacity of 100 while for the M.Ed programme 50 students are admitted. Also it offers composite courses like BA B. Ed and B.Sc B. Ed in which the college takes 50 students for each course. These four-year integrated courses allow students to pursue a bachelor degree in arts or science along with B.Ed degree so that the students becomes competent to teach in schools.

The process of admission in Chitkara College of Education is strictly following the government norms and is absolutely transparent and merit based. For the B.Ed programme’s admission, the candidate has to be qualified in the entrance exams specified by the academic year and duly ranked shall be offered the seats by the university mentioning the following elegibleties. They reveal that seats in each course are allocated according to availability and the choices made by students during counselling. For the M.Ed programme, the admission process is activated once any of the qualified candidates submits his/her application within the set time line.
