Chitkara School of Mass Communication, Jhansla, was set up in 2007 as the constituent college of Chitkara University, Punjab, India. Located at Chandigarh-Patiala National Highway this institution is a co-educational one and aims at training the young generation take up the profession in media. The school provides the following programmes in journalism and mass communication including undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. The facilities of Chitkara School of Mass Communication contain all the modern elements that are necessary for the growth of the students. The Institution provides reverence hostels for the Co-ed classes for boys and also have the facility of separate hostels for girls from different part of the country so that they could feel comfortable and safe. Chitkara School of Mass Communication offers three main courses: BA Journalism & Mass, Communication, MA Journalism & Mass communication and Ph.D. in Media Studies. All these programmes are full time curriculum based and aims at imparting full fledged knowledge on the subject chosen. While the BA program takes three years to complete, the MA programme takes two years only to complete. The Ph.D. programme, as would be expected, is longer and normally takes of the order of six years of study. These courses are provided basically to meet objectives of the mass communication undergraduate programmes, postgraduate programmes and doctorate programmes globally.
