Chitkara School of Planning and Architecture, Patiala (CSPAP) is one of the premier institutions that offer specialized programmes in the field of architecture and design. Admission at CSPAP is an entirely selection of the best and most deserving candidates among thousands of applicants vying for different programs of the institution. This institute is doing a nationwide entrance examination to be a part of the consideration of admissions to other factors like academic performance as well as some personal interviews based on the program. CSPAP, in short, accepts national-level entrance exam scores primarily. For undergraduate courses, it usually takes up scores from three national-level entrance tests: the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA), Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) and Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED).
Personal interviews are routinely conducted as the process also has a personal touch when dealing with graduates for courses like M.Des in Interior Design and M.Plan. Students are usually mandated to come in for personal interviews as part of assessing their abilities and interest in the field. The admission cycle at CSPAP generally syncs with the schedules of national entrance exams. For instance, JEE Main 2025 is on the books for January 21-23, 2025. UCEED 2025 is expecting its answer key to be released on January 23 of the same year. For the most recent updates on application deadline and admission date, prospective students must check the official websites of these entrance exams and that of CSPAP.

B.Des Interior Design: The B.Des Interior Design program at CSPAP accepts only valid UCEED scores. Thus, students without UCEED scores can take the B.Sc Interior route instead. The admission process entails the evaluation of the score in UCEED, maybe supplemented with other criteria established by the institute.
M.Des Interior Design: Admission is made to the Master of Design in Interior Design program with a personal interview. By so doing, the capabilities, creativity, and understanding of the field of the candidate can be assessed by the institute. Generally, applicants should hold a relevant bachelor's degree.
