Chouhan College of Education, Bhopal: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Chouhan College of Education, Bhopal was set up in the year 2001 and is a co-educational college for building up future educationists. Sankhedia, Danish Kunj Kolar Road, is an affiliated college spread over a small area of 0.76 acres of land. This NCTE-approved institute has two specialised education programmes with a combined strength of 100 students. Currently, the college which has a total strength of 8 teaching faculties can provide between a 1:8 and 1:10 teacher-student ratio providing quality care and education. Chouhan College of Education provides 2 programmes for its full-time course in the study of education. 

This college has put in place various facilities to improve the learning experience of the students. Books become an important source of knowledge, and the sports complex is responsible for students’ health and teamwork. The institution boasts of modern information technology facilities including audio-visuals such as L. C. D projectors, overhead projectors, and interactive whiteboards. Facilities include a Science Lab, a Psychology Lab, an Educational Technology Lab, as well as other speciality labs. To enhance students’ comfort, it has transports available and operates a health care facility with first aid. The campus includes independent hostels for male and female students, a gym, and a canteen, thus providing conditions for overall education.

Both B.Ed and D.El.Ed courses are two years period courses with an intake capacity of fifty students for each course. Each programme is aimed at preparing students for the effective fulfilment of their profession and provides information about present-day approaches to teaching and learning.

The admission policy followed at Chouhan College of Education complies with the norms of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). In the case of the B.Ed and the D.El.Ed courses, admission is meritorious based on the marks secured in the gradation examination without any discipline. This approach creates a way through which students who come from low academic backgrounds can be able to have a chance to practice education. Admission in the college is clear and objective and complies with the policy of the government to recruit qualified students with the ability to be professional teachers. 

However, it is sad that the details of this scholarship are deficient, however, the institution recognizes that worthy students need to be in school to enhance their knowledge and skills. As the student population of the college is on the rise, the college seeks to strengthen alumni relations in a bid to provide support to its clients who are its students as well as offering support to alumni as they seek employment.
