Christian College, Chengannur, was set in 1964 located in Alappuzha district of Kerala and is recognised as one of the most premier institution. This affiliated college which is situated over a massive area of 17 acres of land has been serving the cause of higher education since nearly more than five and a half decades. The college is accredited with the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) offers 15 courses in 6 degree programmes; it has a student strength of 1284 boys and girls. The institution employs 54 committed members of teaching staff to support the favourable student to teacher ratio. With a strong emphasis on gender diversity, the college has a notable female-to-male student ratio of 2.3:1.

A particular emphasis is placed on the possession of a great number of facilities that can serve students during their study. Christian College can accommodated male and female students separately in hostels to comfort the students coming from different parts of the country. The boys’ hostel can accommodate as many as twenty students, whereas the girls’ hostel with old block and new block can accommodate up to hundred students. The library of the college is a large knowledege centre with books, magazines, periodicals and/or ebooks and journals etc on every floor. As for the sports lovers, the college offers nice accommodation and constant training in different kinds of sports, such as football, cricket, badminton and wrestling. This institution also has modern facilities like smart classes with smart boards and LCD projectors, computer facilities with internet connections and practicalized laboratories.

Christian College, Chengannur has got a variety of 15 courses to offer to learners at both the undergraduate and the post graduate level. It offers 10 full time undergraduate programmes and 5 postgraduate programmes in order to meet the interest and intends of learners in respect to their programme of study by offering a wide range programme.  The courses offered include B.Com, Ba in English, History, Economics, B.Sc In Mathematics, Zoology, Chemistry and so on.
