The CM Manguli Arts and Science College Sindagi started its functioning in the year 1984 and is an affiliated college situated in Vijayapur, Karnataka. This institution situated on a 4.25 acre land provides three courses in Arts, science and commerce at the undergraduate level. The college is presently having a strength of 1,942 students and teachers of 24 and it has a provision for male students of 1,356 and female students of 472. It has got NAAC accreditation, which testifies its quality on the educations being offered to the students of the Manguli Arts and Science College.
CM Manguli Arts and Science College has facilities aimed at improving students’ standards of comfort and at supporting the college’s educational goals. The library as part of the college started in 1984 from a mere collection of 500 books and has now evolved to the present resource unit. It now consists of a number of resources, such as books, e-books, journals, e-journals, dissertations, theses, CD/DVDs, magazines, and newspapers which acts as a nucleus of the institutional information base. To the female students the college offers hostel facility, especially for learners from out station, to enable them have a secure comfortable stay. The complex has recent facilities of laboratories so the practice-oriented curricula can be provided. An auditorium is used to host events and seminars for the students and staff a cafeteria is used for feeding of students and staff. The college has set up first aid boxes in various parts of the campus and health care is also available from the adjacent Ayurvedic Medical College.
The total courses that CM Manguli Arts and Science College offer are three courses and all these courses are full time B.A time of three years is given to each student to equip him/her with relevant knowledge and understanding of his/her chosen course which include BA, B.Sc and B.Com. This figure also categorises the total population of learners bearing their current enrolment in the given institution implying high market demand for educational products produced by the institution.
The admission in CM Manguli Arts and Science College is mainly on the basis of the score achieved in qualifying examinations. For the BA and B.Sc programmes students are given admission on the basis of merit for the B.Com programme counseling sessions may be conducted after entrance tests. This partially explains why the institution aims at making higher learning affordable to everybody because a high proportion of the students are being supported financially.
