The College of Agricultural Engineering was established in 1983 at Rajendranagar, Andhra Pradesh, Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University. This is a co-educational institution aimed at satisfying the prime objective of promoting agricultural engineering and technology education. This university, affiliated with UGC, has different programs in agricultural engineering and allied fields. The faculty strength of the College of Agricultural Engineering, ANGRAU, is 1,416. It provides expert guidance and mentorship for its students. It offers courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels with specialisations in Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Food Science and Engineering, and Farm Machinery and Power Engineering.

The College of Agricultural Engineering is equipped with an array of facilities and activities that promote all-round development in students. The campus has separate hostels for boys and girls to make on-campus living comfortable. There is a well-equipped library that acts as the knowledge hub of this institution. In addition, it has a very comprehensive collection of books, periodicals, and other academic and research resources for students. The College of Agricultural Engineering has courses addressing various aspects of Agricultural Engineering and Technology. The institution offers 7 full-time courses: undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma programs. At the undergraduate level, it offers two B.Tech programs: Agricultural Engineering and Technology, and Food Science and Engineering, both with an intake of 90 students. At the postgraduate level, M.Tech in Agricultural Process and Food Engineering, Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, and Soil and Water Engineering are offered, where the respective intakes for the same are 5, 3, and 3. The students are also awarded a Diploma in Agriculture with an intake of 10 students.

The admission process is based on the principle that only those students who are capable and have the requisite passion should join the programs offered by the College of Agricultural Engineering, ANGRAU. The minimum OGPA obtained in the qualifying examination for admission to the B.Tech programme in Agricultural Engineering and Technology and Food Science and Engineering should be 5.50/10.00 (5.00/10.00 for SC/ST). It should be 2.50/4.00 (2.00/4.00 for SC/ST).
