The college has a strength of 30 highly qualified professionals to provide excellent education to the students interested in agricultural engineering.
College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology Bhubaneswar has facilities that can be considered as facilities that would complement the tutorial provision for the students. The college library covering an area of 1100 square meters has more than 53,000 books, periodicals, bulletin, research documents, etc, making a wealth of knowledge for the students. The library is an open access system, and the catalogue has gone the computerised way to make it easier for users. To reinforce practical skills, the college has modern departmental laboratories where concept knowledge can be applied practically.
It provides three full time courses at various level of study for agricultural engineering. These are a four-year B.Tech programme, a two year M.Tech programme and a six-year full time Ph.D Programme in Agricultural Engineering. Agricultural engineering remains part and parcel of the college’s course packages hence offering students the best pathway from undergraduate to a doctorate level.
The admission process for prospective learner in CAET Bhubaneswar is different depending on the course offered. On the B.Tech Agricultural Engineering admissions, the programme selectivity is based mainly on the OUAT Entrance Examination that the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology administers every year. However, quarter part, 25% of the seats are secured through the examination organized by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) making an extra entrance option open for the students. The M.Tech Agricultural Engineering programme also uses an OUAT Entrance exam to qualify candidates with the basic knowledge. Thus, the college adopts a more stringent approach to admissions to the Ph.D. programme in Agricultural Engineering admitting students based on merit and interviews to afford firsthand information on regards to the candidate’s research ability and past academic achievement.
Therefore one can observe that CAET Bhubaneswar has taken adequate care to provide all the facilities in respect with students welfare and needs. As part of the student’s convenience, the college ensures that it has different hostels for male and female students to live in.
